Important Infomation

Important information to help you plan your stay.

BOOKING DEPOSIT- a 50% non refundable deposit is necessary to secure your booking. The balance is due 6 weeks before arrival. 

ARRIVAL– your lodge will be ready for you from 4pm.

DEPARTURE – please vacate your lodge by 10am.

DISABLED VISITORS– are welcome at Woodend. Our lodges have ramped entrances and wide doorways & Ben Macdui has an enlarged bathroom with extensive handrails and sanitary ware that meets building control disability standards. Please call us for more details.

CLEANING- each lodge is equipped with cleaning materials and we ask you to leave the property as you found it, otherwise a cleaning charge will be deducted from your security deposit.

SECURITY DEPOSIT – a £100 refundable security deposit is charged on each booking.

LINEN AND TOWELS– are included. All beds have duvets and are made up for you.

NURSERY EQUIPMENT- high-chairs and travel cots are available free of charge. Please request at time of booking. Please bring your own cot bedding.

DOGS- well behaved dogs are welcome at Woodend at an additional charge of £15.00 per week per dog (max 2 per lodge).

We ask that you clear up after your dog and that they are not left alone in the lodges at any time or  allowed on beds or furniture.

Please keep them on a lead within the vicinity of the lodges out of respect to other visitors.

Please vacuum the lodge before departure to remove any dog hairs.

Any damage or additional cleaning required will be charged for.

BREAKAGES- damage and spills/stains must be reported immediately and will be charged for.

CANCELLATION INSURANCE– insurance is advised as cancellation or curtailment of the holiday is non-refundable unless the property is re-let.

SMOKING- smoking is not allowed inside any accommodation. If smoking is suspected to have taken place in any of our properties, the deposit will be retained to cover additional cleaning costs.

EXTERNAL LIGHTING – please be aware that there are no intrusive  street lights at Woodend of Glassel so you may need your phone torch or a separate torch to find your way to your lodge in the dark.

HEATING– the lodges are equipped with electric heaters.

In addition, Ben Macdui has a wood-burning stove (first basket of logs provided).

In addition to the important information above, here’s our recommended suppliers to help you plan ahead. There are lots of places nearby to stock up during your stay at Woodend of Glassel. Banchory itself has a Tesco (which delivers) and Morrisons. There are also Co-ops in Aboyne and Ballater and a Scotmid in Torphins which is open until 9.45pm.

You can get delicious hot pies at The Deli at Park Shop in Banchory. 

For a fantastic selection of fresh local produce and gifts, visit nearby Finzean Farm Shop.

Torphins Farmers Market happens every Wednesday (whatever the weather) from 10.00-2.00pm at Platform 22.

Deli at Raemoir Garden Centre offers an impressive range of cheeses, cured meats, pate, olives, chutneys, chocolates, wines and spirits.

Foodies love the superb selection of handmade, artisan cheeses at Cambus o’May cheese shop.

There are butchers shops in Banchory , Aboyne and Ballater.

Also look out for the local farmers market in Banchory on the third Saturday of the month.
